As the new year started on track,
And the WGA was still on strike
David Letterman had come back,
As a Kenny Rogers look-a-like!
He was sporting this manly beard,
That appeared to be, so very white
And soon it became well revered,
It also kept me up, past midnight!
I heard he wants to shave it off,
And he wants to do it, on his show
But with a beard, there's more to love,
So please Dave, don't shave your beard, please no!
But if you must shave, so be it,
But with it, so sexy, you appeared
I'm sure you'll still have charm and wit,
