I realize this poem is a departure on 2 counts.
1. It's not perverted nor funny (least I hope you don't find it so)
2. It doesn't rhyme the way I usually write and the meters are off.
This poem, I let my heart write.
Perhaps 'heart' sounds too deep or 'stalker-ish', but I don't know how else
to describe it. That's where the words came from.
Maybe it's inspired by a specific girl, or maybe by a few.
Either way, it seems to be the story of my life.
"I Wish I Knew You" By Alexander The Poet 02.19.07
I wish I knew you
And not just drooled at your photograph
And got to be your friend
And spend time together, talk and laugh
I wish I knew you
And approached you, and started to speak
But that I can not do
Because the sight of you makes me weak
I wish I knew you
And to be honest, be more than a friend
And get to ask you out
And kiss you so badly and hold your hand
I wish I knew you
Because your beauty I can't resist
But to you I'm just some guy
That's on your social networking list
I wish I knew you
And wrote poems to you that never end
But that I can not do
Because I found out you have a boyfriend
